“Sorrowful Rice” is a signature dish created by Chef Dai Lung in Stephen Chow’s 1996 movie “God of Cookery”. It is a bowl of pork belly char siew, with a sunny-side-up egg on rice. This is an iconic dish from Hong Kong and Chef Dai Lung will demonstrate how to prepare the original “Sorrowful Rice”.

  • Chinese rose wine 75g
  • Sesame sauce 25g
  • Oyster sauce 25g
  • Fermented bean curd 25g
  • Red bean curd 25g
  • Sugar 230g
  • Grated ginger 2g
  • Cinnamon powder 0.5g
  • Honey 250g
  • First born egg 2 pcs
  • Quinoa

Chef Dai Lung, aka “Hong Kong's God of Cookery”, is nicknamed after the main character in Stephen Chow's movie “God of Cookery”. As consultant of Chop Chop, famed for its original “Sorrowful Rice”, his meticulous attention to quality control ensures the roasts are regarded as one of Hong Kong’s finest.

Kit Ordering

There are various wine tasting kits and ingredients kits available for you to make the most out of your Masterclasses. Interactive Sessions

Some of the Masterclasses will have interactive live broadcast rooms, where participants can have the opportunity to be featured on our live channel and also to interact in real-time with our wine experts and famous chefs. When ordering a designated wine tasting or ingredients kit via the Klook website, you can choose whether you wish to join the live broadcast room. Quotas are limited on a first-come, first-served basis.
